Stamped Concrete

Our experience with Sudlow was spectacular. “Efficient” doesn’t seem a strong enough word! On the day our driveway was to be installed, the crews arrived just before 7am (as promised) and they were done — completely done…I mean, old drive was demo’d and the new drive was poured EXACTLY to our specs — before 1:30pm. And to boot, Mr. Sudlow himself called from his personal cellphone before work started and at the end to offer his assistance (if needed) and check in once work was completed. I thought this kind of customer service was dead! Clearly, it isn’t! AND their office staff is superior! A++ HIGHLY recommend!

For several years, the driveway of our 60-year old house has been cracked and rough. Recently, when we were out of town, our carport cracked and sank about a foot making it difficult, if not impossible, for us to enter the house. I did some research and found Sudlow Concrete who had good reviews. I called and made an appointment with Mr. Sudlow who came out and made measurements and talked about our requirements. He went back and sent me a quote. I accepted the quote and made arrangements to begin work on the following Monday morning. I woke up at 6:45 am that Monday morning and the crew was already beginning to work on breaking up the old concrete on our driveway, carport, turn-around, and front porch using a Bobcat with a jack hammer attachment. Then, they switched to a bucket attachment and scooped up the broken pieces and dumped them into a dumpster to be recycled. After this, they graded the areas needing it, constructed the forms, and started spreading a load of gravel which had been delivered. At this time, the team leader advised us that they were leaving for the day and another load of gravel would be delivered in an hour or so and that they would come back the second day to spread it. On the second day, by the time I woke up at 6:45 am, they had already spread the gravel, laid the rebar and the first concrete truck was already getting in position to deliver the first load of concrete. Once delivered, the team began working the concrete. Over the course of the next hour or so, three more trucks delivered more concrete and all areas were filled in and the workers began smoothing it. By noon, it was all done. They even created a little ramp at the back door in the carport so that we can easily step into the house and even roll a wheelchair into the door, if necessary. We are extremely happy with the work done and compliment Mr Sudlow and the team for their professionalism and courtesy. It was evident they had done quality jobs like this multiple times. Once the job was done, all tools and trash were collected and removed leaving our yard as clean as it was when they arrived the first day. They even placed a barrier so that no one would drive on the driveway until it was dry and cured. We were advised not to walk on the fresh concrete for 24 hours and not to drive on it for 5 days. We can’t wait to try it out. Update: We've walked over the driveway and are impressed by the workmanship and love the new carport, driveway and porch.

Sudlow Concrete replaced my driveway and added a parking pad. This was a great experience! The owner came to my home to give the estimate and measured with a measuring wheel. I was already impressed. On the day of the job, the crew was not just on time for the job, but they arrived early. Again, I was impressed. From removing the old driveway to laying the new concrete, they did a great job. My new driveway is the talk of my neighborhood! A+++

Sudlow completed a patio in our backyard and we couldn’t be happier. The crew was knowledgeable and seemed to work very efficiently. Outstanding work on a complex driveway and patio project We recently had Sudlow Concrete replace our entire driveway and rear walkway (~5,851 sq ft), add a stamped apron and decorative bands, replace our front porch step, reroute five downspouts under the driveway with PVC piping, and install a stamped patio under our deck (~600 sq ft) to match the driveway. This was a big, detailed job, and Sudlow handled every part of it exceptionally well. We got bids from three highly rated, established concrete contractors for the exact same scope of work. Two came in substantially higher for identical specs. Sudlow's price was significantly lower, with no compromise on quality — if anything, the opposite. The crew showed up at 6am on a Monday to get started, and the owner, Will (Bill) Sudlow, personally called the next evening just to check in and make sure everything was going according to plan. That kind of hands-on attention from the owner himself says a lot about how seriously they take their work. Given the scope and the weather, the full pour, stamping, and sealing process took 10 days — which felt entirely reasonable for a job this size. We ran into two minor issues along the way (a buried Xfinity cable line and an underground dog fence wire we hadn't marked), but neither was Sudlow's fault, and both were resolved quickly and professionally. The cleanup was thorough, the stamped concrete on both the driveway bands/apron and the patio came out beautifully and consistently matched, and the overall quality exceeded our expectations. We took before-and-after photos and couldn't be happier with the results. We've already recommended Sudlow to three neighbors with upcoming concrete projects, and we'd recommend them to anyone looking for quality work at a fair, honest price.
