Commercial Trip Hazard Repair in Atlanta

Built to Spec Every Time

Concrete sidewalk with cracks surrounded by dry leaves and patchy grass on a sunny day.

A raised concrete edge of just ¼ inch qualifies as a trip hazard according to ADA standards. In a busy commercial property, even this small discrepancy can leave your business vulnerable to serious liability claims.

At Sudlow Concrete, we specialize in commercial concrete trip hazard repair for property managers, facility directors and business owners across Atlanta and the surrounding Metro area. Whether it's a raised sidewalk panel at a retail center, a heaved joint in a warehouse walkway or deteriorating concrete work at a building entrance, our team identifies the problem, recommends the right fix and gets it done with minimal disruption to your operations.

We're one of Atlanta's most trusted commercial concrete contractors — and we've been doing this since 2000. When you call Sudlow, you get a straight answer, honest pricing and a repair that holds.

Trip Hazard Grinding and Concrete Scarifying

For many commercial trip hazards, grinding is the fastest and most cost-effective solution available. When an old concrete panel rises above an adjacent slab, which often happens because of tree root pressure, soil movement or the natural settling that occurs after years of heavy use, our concrete grinding process shaves the raised edge down to create a smooth, flush transition that eliminates the hazard entirely.

Grinding is minimally invasive, leaves a textured slip-resistant surface and requires no curing time. Your property is back to normal the same day. It's an ideal solution for sidewalks, parking lots, loading areas and building entrances — anywhere you need a fast, clean result without the cost and disruption of full concrete removal. Sudlow Concrete uses professional-grade equipment and experienced crews to deliver precise results that meet ADA compliance standards and blend naturally with the surrounding concrete.

Panel Removal and Concrete Replacement

Sometimes grinding isn't the right answer. When trip hazards are caused by severely deteriorated concrete, structural cracking or underlying soil problems that won't stay fixed with a surface grind, full panel removal and replacement is the smarter long-term investment. With years of experience as a commercial concrete repair contractor, Sudlow Concrete manages complete slab removal and repair for commercial properties of any size. We deliver new concrete that matches the surrounding surface in strength, finish and elevation.

We'll always give you an honest assessment. If grinding solves the problem, we'll say so. If replacement is the better call, we'll explain exactly why and we will not try to upsell you on work your property doesn't need. That's the Sudlow way, and it's why commercial property owners across Atlanta keep coming back.

Where Commercial Trip Hazards Show Up

Trip hazards tend to form in the busiest parts of your property, which is exactly where they pose the greatest risk. Our commercial concrete services address all surfaces that endure the most wear and tear.

Sidewalks, concrete patios and building entrances experience foot traffic, soil movement and Atlanta's wet seasons, which often result in raised edges and sunken panels. These issues are hazardous and detract from your property's appearance.

Parking lots and pedestrian pathways can develop uneven transitions between panels, heaved curbs and deteriorating concrete in parking areas. These conditions pose significant trip and fall risks.

Loading docks and warehouse aprons often have risen edges at the junctions where dock slabs meet surrounding concrete. These are hazardous for workers and equipment operators working in busy industrial settings.

Retail centers, medical facilities, churches and office parks all see high levels of foot traffic. Even small surface irregularities in these locations can lead to real liability concerns. Our commercial trip hazard repair team works with properties throughout Atlanta, Georgia, as well as the surrounding metro area.

ADA Compliance and Liability Protection

According to the Americans with Disabilities Act, any vertical surface change of ¼ inch or more is considered a trip hazard. Failing to address this issue on commercial property can lead to both safety concerns and potential legal liability. A single slip-and-fall claim can cost far more than any concrete repair. Proactive maintenance isn't just the right thing to do; it's a smart business decision.

Sudlow Concrete repairs commercial trip hazards to meet current ADA compliance standards, restoring safe, accessible walkways that protect your customers, employees and your bottom line. Addressing hazards promptly also creates a documented record of proactive property maintenance — something that matters if a liability question ever arises down the road.

We used Sudlow Concrete to repair and widen the apron of our driveway. The bid was fair and Aaron did not try and oversell us on repairing small cracks throughout our 70 year old driveway. He provided an expert solution to removing unsightly railroad ties and gently sloping the lawn edge to the driveway entrance. The office agreed to our schedule request and the workers arrived on time. The workers worked continuously until the job was completed. The owner called that evening to see if we were satisfied. Wow! Who does that anymore?!! We highly recommend Sudlow concrete.

Bill and his team did such an amazing job, and took a lot of care with our project. They were quick, timely, and the process was seamless. Our driveway was in very bad shape—it was old, and we just finished a renovation that busted it up even more. It looks incredible now (not to mention so much safer for our family). Bill was able to widen the driveway by a foot and create a drainage system for us to eliminate erosion. We're thrilled with how it turned out, and he had extremely competitive pricing and a top notch team. Would highly recommend!

We hired Sudlow Concrete to replace our driveway. Bill (Owner) personally came out to review project and followed up with the quote later that day. Reasonably priced compared to other companies. I had to chase after other companies, rescheduling appointments & having to request a written quote - Bill did exactly as he said he would, sadly far too uncommon these days. The office staff promptly & professionally followed up to schedule the project to begin within the week. The crew arrived on time the day the work was to be completed. Our driveway was removed and replaced in approx. 6 hours & the site was clean before they left. A great experience - strongly recommend!

Our building needed a fix to our driveway curbs as everyone was catching their rims on them. Bill Sudlow himself came out for the estimate. Super nice guy! The job came in at less than half of the other responding company so we proceeded with Sudlow. Today they installed and it looks great!...

Bill Sudlow and his crew did an excellent job removing 2 trash pits (one from under the front porch) and then rebuilding my porch. I had tried for years to just keep filling them up, but they only got worse. I never could keep the front steps from sinking and this year the holes just got to my breaking point and looked at my options. Sudlow Concrete was the only firm that I felt comfortable working with. The only disappointing part of the job was when they covered the driveway with plastic; and it didn’t last an hour and ended up shredded. The driveway has a good slope to it which caused the bobcat to just slide. This is the only issue I had with the job. Everything else is better than I expected. Sudlow’s work is first class all the way. My porch, steps, and sidewalk look better than the original work.

Working with Sudlow concrete was a great experience. They made time to explain everything they were going to do in order to meet our expectations. It was a hassle free, low pressure exchange with a fair price for an outstanding product. The construction team arrived on time and was very respectful throughout. I was especially impressed with how thorough the team was in making sure they were on track to do the way we wanted. The whole thing was worth it and we love our new driveway, plus, extra parking spot! I'm telling anyone that asks, this is a great company to trust with your project.
